Why does Actually Interacting need my location?

Actually Interacting uses your location to find other members who are at the same venue or event as you — that’s the whole point! Without Location Services enabled, the app cannot match you with anyone nearby, so it needs to be turned on for the app to work.

You can review your location setting inside the app at any time by going to the Settings screen (tap the cogwheel icon). The Settings screen will show you whether Location Services are active and let you jump straight to your phone’s settings if you need to change them.

How to enable Location Services

iPhone (iOS)

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Scroll down and tap Privacy & Security
  3. Tap Location Services
  4. Make sure Location Services is toggled On at the top
  5. Scroll down to Actually Interacting and tap it
  6. Select While Using the App

Android

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap Location (or Privacy → Location on some phones)
  3. Make sure Use location is toggled On

  5. Find and tap Actually Interacting
  6. Select Allow only while using the app

Not receiving notifications?

When someone at your venue wants to connect with you, Actually Interacting sends you a notification straight away — so you don’t miss the moment. Notifications are also used to let you know when someone messages you or when a match is found.

If you’re not receiving alerts, check that notifications are enabled for the app in your phone’s settings. You can also control which types of notifications you receive from inside the app on the Settings screen (cogwheel icon).
